How to Brew:
This blend is crafted to be enjoyed either hot or cold. It is recommended that you follow these instructions to brew it, first, hot and then add ice or chill. By first brewing it hot, you are extracting as many of the essential oils, nutrients, and flavors as possible from the botanicals. If you brew it cold (i.e. as "Sun Tea") then you will not extract the full potency of the blend.
Measurement: 1 tbs of loose leaf tea per 8 oz. of boiling water (160 degrees F. recommended for best results)
Steep Time: 10 minutes with the top of the cup/tea pot covered to retain essential oils OR use a French Press for tea/coffee. If steeping in a cup or tea pot, use an infuser for best results.
Sweetener: Sweeten to preference while warm so that the sweetener dissolves completely. It is recommended that if you are sweetening with honey, do so when the tea has cooled to 100 degrees F. or cooler to retain the natural nutritional benefits of the honey.
Safety Information
Please Note: Cinnamon is generally well tolerated in culinary amounts, but regular consumption of larger amounts may provide significant coumarin, particularly with cassia cinnamon. Individuals with liver conditions or those taking medications affected by liver function should consult a healthcare provider before regular use.
Please Note: Elderberry should be consumed only when properly prepared and processed. Raw or improperly prepared elderberries can contain compounds that may cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Please Note: Hibiscus may affect blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Individuals taking medications for blood pressure or blood sugar, or those with low blood pressure, should consult a healthcare provider before regular use.
Please Note: Rose hips contain fine hairs and seeds that can cause mechanical irritation to the mouth and esophagus if ingested. Always strain this tea through a fine-mesh infuser before drinking and do not ingest the rose-hip seeds or fine hairs as they may cause irritation.
