This loose leaf herbal tea blend of organic botanicals is used in traditional natural medicine to soothe dry coughs and irritated bronchial passages. Bloom & Breathe Herbal Tea invites you to slow down and restore the natural balance of the respiratory system through simple botanical wellness inspired by time-honored holistic traditions.

Key Ingredients and Their Benefits:

Honeybush Tea: This South African herb is traditionally used in natural medicine as an expectorant to alleviate coughs and clear mucus. Its polyphenols may reduce lung tissue inflammation.

Lemongrass: In holistic traditions, lemongrass is valued for its ability to act as a gentle expectorant, helping to loosen mucus and clear congestion from the respiratory tract. Its natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties are believed to soothe irritated lung tissue and support the body's defense against respiratory infections.

Marshmallow Root: In holistic practices, marshmallow root is primarily valued for its high mucilage content, a gel-like substance that coats and soothes irritated mucous membranes in the throat and lungs. This demulcent action may help to relieve dry, hacking coughs and reduce inflammation caused by respiratory conditions like bronchitis or asthma.

Mullein: In holistic medicine, mullein leaf is renowned as a powerful demulcent and expectorant that specifically targets respiratory health. Its high mucilage content may soothe inflamed lung tissue and may calm dry, irritating coughs, while its expectorant properties may help to loosen and to expel mucus from the bronchial passages. Additionally, mullein contains anti-inflammatory compounds that may help to reduce swelling in the airways, making it a traditional remedy for conditions like bronchitis, asthma, and congestion.

Thyme: In holistic traditions, thyme is highly regarded for its potent antimicrobial and antispasmodic properties, making it a key herb for respiratory health. It may help to relieve coughs by relaxing the muscles of the bronchial tubes and may act as an expectorant to help clear mucus and congestion from the lungs. Additionally, its natural antiseptic qualities are believed to support the body's fight against respiratory infections and soothe irritated airways.

How to Brew:

This Summer blend is crafter to be enjoyed either hot or cold. It is recommended that you follow these instructions to brew it, first, hot and then add ice or chill. By first brewing it hot, you are extracting as many of the essential oils, nutrients, and flavors as possible from the botanicals. If you brew it cold (i.e. as "Sun Tea") then you will not extract the full potency of the blend.

Measurement: 1 tbs of loose leaf tea per 8 oz. of boiling water (160 degrees F. recommended for best results)

Steep Time: 20 minutes with the top of the cup/tea pot covered to retain essential oils OR use a French Press for tea/coffee. If steeping in a cup or tea pot, use an infuser for best results.

Sweetener: Sweeten to preference while warm so that the sweetener dissolves completely. It is recommended that if you are sweetening with honey, do so when the tea has cooled to 100 degrees F. or cooler to retain the natural nutritional benefits of the honey.
