Bloom & Balance: Crafted for a Woman's Changing Seasons
A graceful blend crafted for moments of restoration and self-care, Bloom & Balance Herbal Tea brings together time-honored botanicals traditionally enjoyed by women for generations. Delicate rose petals and fragrant Japanese honeysuckle buds create a softly floral cup, while raspberry leaf, red clover, fennel seed, and South African honeybush tea add gentle depth and warmth. These herbs are often combined in traditional herbalism to support women's wellness through hormonal balance, primarily through phytoestrogens (plant compounds that mimic estrogen) and liver support for hormone metabolism.
Bloom & Balance Herbal Tea is a soothing herbal infusion designed for women seeking a nourishing daily ritual that supports a sense of balance, calm, and connection to their natural rhythms. The flavor is lightly sweet, floral, and comforting--perfect for slow mornings, evening unwinding, or anytime you want to pause and care for yourself naturally.
Key Ingredients and Their Benefits:
Fennel Seed: Contains anethole, a compound with mild estrogenic activity that is traditionally used in holistic practice to help regulate menstrual cycles, reduce PMS symptoms (like bloating and cramping), and support lactation in breastfeeding mothers.
Honeybush Tea: This South African treasure is traditionally used in natural medicine to alleviate menopause symptoms (e.g. hot flashes, mood swings) and to regulate menstrual cycles. It contains minerals (calcium, magnesium, and zinc) and tannins, its direct hormonal balancing effect mimics estrogen and may improve bone density.
Japanese Honeysuckle Buds: Unlike the others, this herb is not typically known for direct estrogenic activity. Its primary role in a hormonal blend is as an anti-inflammatory and detoxifying agent. It supports the liver, which is the organ responsible for metabolizing and clearing excess hormones from the body.
Raspberry Leaf: Often called the "female herb," it is traditionally used in natural medicine to tone the uterine muscles and to regulate menstrual cycles. While it contains minerals and tannins, its direct hormonal balancing effect is less about mimicking estrogen and more about supporting reproductive tissue health.
Red Clover: Rich in isoflavones (genistein and daidzein), which act as weak phytoestrogens, red clover buds are most commonly used to help alleviate menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats by binding to estrogen receptors. While often used as a stimulant in traditional natural medicine, in this context, its menthol content may help to relax tense muscles and to clear mental fog, allowing for a refreshed and unburdened state of mind when paired with the other calming herbs.
How to Brew:
This Summer blend is crafter to be enjoyed either hot or cold. It is recommended that you follow these instructions to brew it, first, hot and then add ice or chill. By first brewing it hot, you are extracting as many of the essential oils, nutrients, and flavors as possible from the botanicals. If you brew it cold (i.e. as "Sun Tea") then you will not extract the full potency of the blend.
Measurement: 1 tbs of loose leaf tea per 8 oz. of boiling water (160 degrees F. recommended for best results)
Steep Time: 12 minutes with the top of the cup/tea pot covered to retain essential oils OR use a French Press for tea/coffee. If steeping in a cup or tea pot, use an infuser for best results.
Sweetener: Sweeten to preference while warm so that the sweetener dissolves completely. It is recommended that if you are sweetening with honey, do so when the tea has cooled to 100 degrees F. or cooler to retain the natural nutritional benefits of the honey.
Safety Information
Please Note: While consumption of Raspberry Leaf is generally considered to be safe and it is traditionally used in natural medicine to tone the uterus in the second and third trimesters, it is generally avoided in the first trimester due to theoretical concerns about stimulating contractions. Always consult an OB-GYN before use during pregnancy. It may also lower blood sugar, requiring monitoring if you take diabetes medication.
Please Note: Consumption of South African Honeybush Tea may lower blood sugar. While this may be beneficial for those with Type 2 Diabetes, it is recommended that you consult a healthcare provider, particularly if you are taking medications for this medical condition.
Please Note: Japanese Honeysuckle Buds are considered to be safe for ingestion as a tea; however, some studies suggest that it can stimulate the immune system and may worsen conditions like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or multiple sclerosis. It may also lower blood sugar and blood pressure, potentially interacting with diabetic medications and causing levels to drop too low. Those who are allergic to plants in the Caprifoliaceae family should avoid it.
Please Note: Because Red Clover and Fennel have estrogen-like effects, this blend should be used with caution if you have hormone-sensitive conditions (such as breast, uterine, or ovarian cancer, or endometriosis). It is also generally not recommended during pregnancy without strict medical supervision. Always consult a healthcare provider before using herbal blends for hormonal regulation, especially if you are on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or birth control.
