For the most beneficial effect on the body, this caffeinate blend is recommended for consumption during late morning or early afternoon.
DO NOT INGEST THIS TEA IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR DIABETIC.
Key Ingredients and Their Benefits:
Cloves: Research shows that cloves are beneficial to the regulation of blood sugar and can reduce the frequency of sugar cravings. The eugenol contained in cloves is a thermogenic that is proven to boost metabolism and aid in fat burning. One of the highest scoring antioxidant spices on Earth, cloves work with the hibiscus and green tea in this blend to protect cellular structure, as well.
Fennel Seed: In holistic traditions, the volatile oils in fennel are believed to trigger the secretion of digestive juices and enzymes such as amylase, lipase, and protease. This enhancement improves the breakdown of fats, proteins, and
carbohydrates, preventing food from stagnating and fermenting in the gut, which is a common cause of gas and indigestion.
Hibiscus: Rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants, it helps combat oxidative stress and fatigue while supporting healthy blood pressure, which can improve overall energy levels. Combining hibiscus with Sencha tea creates a weight management powerhouse by targeting weight loss through multiple complementary and biological pathways: boosting fat oxidation, blocking carbohydrate absorption, stabilizing blood sugar, and reducing inflammation.
Japanese Sencha Tea: The caffeinated whole leaves in this tea blend retain higher levels of the metabolism-boosting antioxidant Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) than standard grocery store green tea options. The combination of caffeine and catechins in this green tea has been shown to increase fat oxidation and energy expenditure by 5%. It is also a potent antioxidant linked to cellular protection through its ablities to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, neutralize free radicals, and support healthy aging. Unlike coffee, this green tea contains a moderate amount of L-theanine (an amino acid that promotes brain waves and relaxation) paired with approximately 30-50 mg of caffein per 8 oz. cup. The L-theanine smooths out the caffeine spike, improving cognitive function, focus, and mood without the caffeine crash.
How to Brew:
This Summer blend is crafter to be enjoyed either hot or cold. It is recommended that you follow these instructions to brew it, first, hot and then add ice or chill. By first brewing it hot, you are extracting as many of the essential oils, nutrients, and flavors as possible from the botanicals. If you brew it cold (i.e. as "Sun Tea") then you will not extract the full potency of the blend.
Measurement: 1 tbs of loose leaf tea per 8 oz. of boiling water (160 degrees F. recommended for best results)
Steep Time: 5 to 7 minutes with the top of the cup/tea pot covered to retain essential oils OR use a French Press for tea/coffee. If steeping in a cup or tea pot, use an infuser for best results.
Sweetener: Sweeten to preference while warm so that the sweetener dissolves completely. It is recommended that if you are sweetening with honey, do so when the tea has cooled to 100 degrees F. or cooler to retain the natural nutritional benefits of the honey.
Safety Information

Cloves should not be ingested if you are receiving insulin injections or are taking diabetic medications to regulate blood sugar levels. Consultation with a healthcare provider is recommended.
Please Note: Fennel seed contains phytoestrogen, which mimics estrogen and may stimulate the uterus or may disrupt hormone balancing medications. Consult a healthcare provider before consuming whole cloves is you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are undergoing hormone replacement therapy.
Please Note: Consumption of Hibiscus on a regular basis is generally considered to be safe; however, anyone who is diabetic (particularly if you require insulin injections), pregnant (particularly in the third trimester), or undergoing hormone replacement therapy should avoid consumption of hibiscus altogether.
